Roger Schroeder has been publishing his highly acclaimed textbook, Operations Management in the Supply Chain: Sustainability and Resilience, 2024 Release since 1979 and now revises it regularly with Susan Goldstein.  He is the Frank A. Donaldson Chair Emeritus in Supply Chain and Operations Management at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. His experience and knowledge resulted in significant changes to the 2024 Release on the current topics of sustainability and resilience of supply chains.

He received a BS and MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.  His research is on quality management, operations strategy, and excellence in operations.  He authored over 100 research articles and is among the most widely published and cited researchers in operations and supply chain management.  In recognition of his outstanding teaching, he is a member of the University of Minnesota Academy of Distinguished Teachers and received the Morse Award for exceptional teaching. 

Professor Schroeder received a lifetime achievement award in operations management from the Academy of Management. He received the distinction as a Fellow of both the Decision Sciences Institute and the Production and Operations Management Society.  Professor Schroeder has consulted widely with numerous organizations, including 3M, Honeywell, Motorola, Golden Valley Foods, First Bank Minneapolis, and The Prudential Insurance Company. 



Susan Meyer Goldstein is co-author of the popular textbook, Operations Management in the Supply Chain: Sustainability and Resilience, 2024 Release since its 4th edition.  She serves on faculty in the Supply Chain and Operations Department at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.

Professor Goldstein is an award-winning instructor of undergraduate, graduate, and executive courses.  She also brings extensive teaching expertise and experience to her role as academic director of the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program at the Carlson School.  This STEM-certified program prepares working professionals for supply chain leadership roles.  Her teaching is primarily in the areas of core operations and supply chain, process design, service management, operations strategy and supply chain strategy.  She was instrumental in embedding supply chain sustainability content in the undergraduate core supply chain course at University of Minnesota, which is now titled Sustainable Supply Chain and Operations

Her eclectic academic interests involve a high level of institutional service across numerous programs, including previous service as academic director of the Carlson Consulting Enterprise, an experiential project-based course.  She earned a B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology and M.B.A. at University of Minnesota, and her Ph.D. at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University.
